Dee was born January 4, 1931 in Kannapolis, NC to the late George Oscar Towell and Sarah Roseman Towell.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Jane Michelle Murphy, two brothers, and three sisters.
Dee is survived by her daughter, Joan Ottaway and her husband, Danny; two grandsons, John Ottaway, and Danny Lee Ottaway, Jr.; and four great grandchildren, Samantha Ottaway, Skylar Ottaway, Daemyn Ottaway, and Harley Ottaway.
A funeral service will be held at 7pm Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at Pleasant Plains Baptist Church, Apex, NC 27502. The family will receive friends 6:30-7:00pm prior to the service at the church.
