Jim touched the lives of many and will be greatly missed. He was my self appointed "mentor" when I joined Store Systems in 1978 and taught me the subtleties of creating "PSEs" and how to forecast the rapid growth of IBM supermarket scanning system installations. In recent years Judy and I have enjoyed our visits with Jim and Jean in the NC mountains where his daughter, Diane Meiburg, is our neighbor and friend. Jim was a great fighter. His positive attitude and supportive family saw him through uncountable health crises over the past 15 years. God speed, Jim. See you in Heaven!

I was a co-worker of Jim's at IBM. He was a pleasure to know: genuine, friendly, and reliable. There was always a smile on his face. I know he will be greatly missed, but am sure his presence will be welcomed in heaven.
My sincere sympathy to his family.
