Ed was born December 11, 1923 in Worcester, MA to the late Raymond and Lillian Joyce McCarthy. He graduated from Holy Cross College in 1951 and served in the U.S. Navy as a Lieutenant Commander. Known for his sense of humor and love of golf, Ed had a long career in the medical industry.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 67 years, Joan Medley McCarthy.
He is survived by his sister-in-law Elaine Millspaugh of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; nephew Mark Millspaugh and his wife, Sarah, and their 3 children of Baltimore, MD; and cousin Donald Lund of Millbury, MA.
A funeral memorial mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 3, 2016 at St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church followed by an internment in the columbarium. Friends and family are invited for visitation at 10:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
