Edwin Percy Yarter

Family will receive friends on Sunday, January 24, 2016 from 2-4 pm at Apex Funeral Home with a Memorial Service to begin at 4 pm in the funeral home chapel.

Edwin Percy “Buz” Yarter, 78, of Apex, formerly of Kingston, NY, died Monday, January 18, 2016 at his home in Apex, NC.

Edwin was born May 28, 1937 in Argyle, NY to the late Harry Yarter and Mary Harrington Yarter. He was a graduate of Kingston High School and attended Ulster County Community College. Edwin was a veteran of the US Army. His first job after his military service was as a route salesman with 7up Bottling Company, where worked his way to production manager. Edwin was then hired by IBM, where he worked his way to programmer retiring with over 22 years of service. He was a member of the First Reformed Church of Cary.

Edwin was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Mary Virginia Yarter and brother-in-law, Wilbur “Pete” DeLanoy.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Ethel Yarter; son, David L. Yarter and wife, Tammie Yarter; daughter, Linda Marie Boggs and husband, David A. Boggs; grandchildren, Matthew Boggs and wife, Nondi and Jonathan Boggs and wife, Becki; great grandchildren, Mary Marie Boggs and Carol Ellen Boggs; three brothers, Lawrence Yarter and wife, Juanita, James Yarter and wife, Phyllis and Roger Yarter and wife, Paulette; and sister, Sharon Wuttke and husband, Erwin; many nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

The family will receive friends 2-4pm on Sunday, January 24, 2016 at Apex Funeral Home, with a Memorial Service to begin at 4pm in the funeral home chapel.
