Eloise W. Goode

Eloise W. Goode, age 95, of Apex, North Carolina died on Monday, November 4, 2024. She was a resident of Windsor Point Retirement Community. She was born in Atlanta, GA and was reared in Lakeland, FL by her adoptive parents, John and Byrd Welch. After the death of her adoptive parents in 1946, Eloise lived with family from her church, Thomas and Bronnie Mae Morrison. She graduated from Mars Hill Junior College in Mars Hill, NC.

In 1988, she married her longtime friend Bob Goode and moved to North Carolina. After Bob died in 1997, Eloise cared for Bob's aunt Novie Goode. Eloise was a member of Woodhaven Baptist Church in Apex. She enjoyed singing in a variety of musical venues. She was a gracious lady, accepting of other, a friend to many.

Eloise served Virginia Baptist Mission Board in Richmond, Virginia as an administrative assistant in the Baptist Men's Department. She also served with the North Carolina Baptist Convention in Cary, NC.

She is survived by her longtime friend and former co-worker Diane Smith, of Apex; her foster sister Mary McCall, of Spruce Pine, NC; good friend Flo Tuck, of Winter Springs, FL; sisters-in-law Sue Farr, of Forest City, NC and Kay Nichols, of Spindale, NC; and many people who called her friend.

In memory of Eloise, donations may be made to the Bob Goode Scholarship Fund at Woodhaven Baptist Church, 4000 Kildaire Farm Road, Apex, NC 27539.
