

Mrs. Jeffreys was born in Garner, NC on March 9, 1915. She was a wonderful wife and homemaker and was an inspiration to her children and the many people who were fortunate to make her acquaintance. She worked in the family grocery and seafood business along with her husband for many years. She was active in her church and community teaching and providing leadership for others. During her many years in Raleigh, she was a member of Millbrook United Methodist Church. She retired with her husband to Morehead City, N.C. on Bogue Sound in 1981. After moving to Morehead City, she was a member of Ann Street Methodist Church for many years.
Mrs. Jeffreys was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, John Furman Jeffreys and a daughter, Betsy Jeffreys Tripp. Surviving is daughter and son-in-law, Doris Hart Lawrence and Larry D. Lawrence of Apex, NC, daughter and son-in-law, Jackie Jeffreys Estes and William P. Estes of Richmond, VA; grandchildren, Greg Hart and wife Rene of Cary, NC, Tracy Hart of Greensboro, NC, Michael Hart and wife, Kimberly of New Orleans, LA, James B.Tripp of Denver, Colorado, Bonnie Estes Drowne and husband Jeremy of New York, Barbara Estes of California, and Larry Lawrence, Jr. of Fuquay, NC, three great-grandchildren, Christopher and Joshua Hart of Cary NC, and Liam Drowne of New York. Surviving sister: Linda Harp and husband, Ed of Wendell, N.C. and sisters-in-law, Carol Collins of Las Vegas, Nevada and Jan Collins of Garner, N.C. Mrs. Jeffreys was predeceased by her brothers, Fred Collins, James Collins, J.D. Collins, Roy Collins, and Alfred Collins and sisters, Magdelene Gower, Evelyn Bush and Annie Louise Collins.
Family and friends will be at the Apex Funeral Home in Apex, N.C. on West Williams Street (Highway 55) from 6-8 PM Tuesday, November 29, 2011.
Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at Apex Funeral Home, 550 West Williams Street,(Highway 55), Apex, N.C. Burial is to be at Montlawn Memorial Park. Raleigh, N.C.
The family would like to thank all the caring people at Carolina House in Cary and Rex Rehabilitation and Nursing Care Center of Apex who helped with the care of Mrs. Jeffreys in her time of need.
