Francis “Frank” Joseph Carey, Jr., 75 passed away on Tuesday morning, January 27, 2015. Born in New York, New York on November 17, 1939; he was the son of the late Francis J. Carey and Mae Mitchell Carey. Frank graduated high school and went straight into the US Marine Corps. After his honorable discharge, he returned to work for Pan Am, Rutgers University as the Food Director and then as a co-owner in Partners Limo Company in New Jersey. Most recently he was a driver with Triangle Express in Raleigh. Frank and his wife, Gloria Carey enjoyed being members of the Federation of NC Square Dancers.
He is survived by his wife; eight children: James (Sandy) Carey, Francis J. Carey III; Jason (Jeni) Harloff, Bill Harloff, Cathleen (Ruben) Coleman, Mary Jane (Lee) Johnson, Debbie (Phillip) Giles and Audrey (Wayne) Erb; siblings: Elizabeth McCan, Mary (Miles) Walsh and John Carey; fifteen grandchildren and other family and friends.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at 11 AM at St. Bernadette’s Catholic Church in Fuquay-Varina. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Transitions LifeCare – 250 Hospice Circle – Raleigh, NC 27607.
