

Galo was born November 9, 1933 in Quito, Ecuador to the late Zoilo Viteri and Blanca Paredes Viteri.
When Galo became a believer and under the influence of Christian missionaries, he began singing gospel music. He had the opportunity to sing as a guest soloist for evangelist Billy Graham during his Ecuadorian crusade in 1962.
Galo graduated from Judson College and received his Masters of Divinity degree from Northern Baptist Theological Seminary in May 1980.
He was the pastor of Divine Redeemer in Melrose Park, Illinois for 23 years.
Since his salvation, he walked in the light of the Lord without fear or compromise. “My life isn’t my own anymore, it is the Lord’s; he does whatever he pleases with me, and that’s the way I live.”
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Asiria Viteri; daughter, Hady Mottesi and husband, Bill; grandchildren, Gina and Marcelo Mottesi; sisters, Gladys, Chela, and Ana Cristina; brothers, Carlos, Jorge, Gerardo and Manuel.
A memorial service will be held 3pm Saturday, November 2, 2019 at Apex Funeral Home Chapel, 550 W. Williams St., Apex, NC 27502. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
