Gordon McLendon Rimmer

Gordon was born June 19, 1935 in Hurdle Mills, NC to the late Elsie Neatherly and Calvin Washington Rimmer, Sr. He was a graduate of Hurdle Mills High School and Wake Technical Community College. Gordon was employed as the recreational supervisor for Polk Youth Center and the State of North Carolina.

Gordon is survived by his wife of 58 years, Nell Saunders Rimmer; sons, Stanley Thomas Rimmer and wife, Tina and George McLendon Rimmer and wife, Michelle; brother, Noel Rimmer; and four grandchildren, Rachel Murray and husband, Cameron, Linsey Rimmer, Taylor Hall and husband, Sheldon and Hunter Rimmer; and one great grandchild, Axel Hall. sister-in-law, Kathy Hicks and husband, Ed; and nephew, Derek McLamb.

A Funeral Service will be held 3pm Saturday, October 1, 2016 at Apex Funeral Home Chapel, 550 W. Williams St, Apex, NC 27502. Burial will follow the service at Good Hope Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends 2-3pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
