Gudrun Nelly Romeo

Gudrun Nelly Boehringer was born in Germany on February 7, 1927 to the late Otto Boehringer and Nelly Kauffman. She grew up in Germany and towards the end of World War II she met Vincent Romeo in Switzerland, while he was on weekend leave from the army. It was a love story from the very beginning, they were married 5 months later in Switzerland and moved to the US. Their love story continued until her husband‘s death just before their 75th wedding anniversary. She loved to read, do crossword puzzles, eat food, enjoyed her white wine and spend time with her children. She was fluent in five languages and designed every house she lived in in her adulthood. Mrs. Romeo also dabbled in painting, knitting and writing poetry.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Vincent Romeo Senior and her son Vincent Romeo Junior. She is survived her two daughters, Karen Viser and Gina Romeo, and by her two sons, Denis, Romeo and Jeff Romeo, and her 11 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

A service will be held 11:30 AM on May 13, 2024 at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Apex, North Carolina. In lieu of flowers, please donate to St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church, Apex, North Carolina in memory of her.
