Henry “Tink” Nathaniel Clayton Jr, 62 of Angier, North Carolina, passed away on June 26, 2023. Tink was born on December 31, 1960 in Apex, NC to his parents, Henry Nathaniel Clayton Sr and Claudia Herndon Clayton.
Tink was known for his kind ways and big heart. His favorite pastime was driving in the countryside, enjoying the scenery of farms, mountains and lakes (where he would often mention that he would like to stop and cast a line… even if the fish weren’t biting). Tink had a vast amount of knowledge from the hundreds of books and articles he read which he drew upon to make him a fascinating conversationalist. He had a brilliant mind and ability to turn a phrase and craft a great story. He was also humble. With a great big grin on his face, he would often say “I’m just a poor old dumb country boy”.
He is preceded in death by his father, Henry Nathaniel Clayton Sr.
He is lovingly remembered by his mother, Claudia Clayton (her long term companion) Kenneth Fish, his “Sister” Lauren Johnson and many others he adored and considered family.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, July 6, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Apex Cemetery, 100 Upchurch St, Apex, NC 27502.
In lieu of customary remembrances, memorial contributions may be donated to St. Judes Children’s Hospital or Beautiful Together Animal Sanctuary in Chapel Hill, NC.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared online at apexfuneral.net for the Clayton family.
