Hilda Mayer Cashell

Hilda Mayer Cashell, 93, peacefully passed away on May 4, 2022. Hilda was born on August 25, 1928 in Baltimore, MD to the late, Emil and Margaret Mayer. She was an executive secretary for the Atomic Energy Commission, spent several years at home raising her only daughter, and returned to work as an executive secretary for National Geographic. Being a grandmother was one of her greatest joys in life. Her favorite pastime was dancing. From church socials in her youth, to her later years at Woodland Terrace, she always loved a dance. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, George Douglas Cashell and her sister, Dolores Iona Bode. She is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Karen Cashell Clemmer, son-in-law J. Christopher Clemmer, and grandsons John Douglas Clemmer and Michael Emil Clemmer. A private inurnment service will take place on Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at St. Mary Magdalene Columbarium where she will be laid to rest by her immediate family.
