James A. Oakes, 89, passed away Wednesday, October 20, 2010. He was born in Green County, KY to James A. and Cora E. (Judd) Oakes on April 28, 1921. Mr. Oakes had lived in Apex, NC since 1990. Jim is survived by daughters Cheryl Oakes and Barbara French of Apex, NC; Donna Janson of Suwanee, GA; grandsons, Nils F. Janson III of Savannah, GA; Senior Airman, James A. Janson of Goldsboro, NC; honorary granddaughter Jacquie Heffern of Cary, NC; brothers William G. Oakes of Hustonville, KY; Howard Oakes of Wesley, AR; Norman Oakes of Dublin, IN; and sister Pattie Jane Rigsbee of Lexington, KY; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death in June of this year by his wife of 62 years, Marinda M. Oakes. Private services will be held Saturday, October 23, 2010 at Apex Cemetery.
