James Edward Turner

James Edward Turner, 69, of Holly Springs, NC, formerly of Newport, VT, died Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at his home in Holly Springs, NC.

James was born in Newport, VT to the late Clesson Edwin Turner and Hazel Desjardin Turner. He was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School in Newport, VT and was a Vietnam War veteran of the US Army. James was employed as an audiology technician with Industrial Hearing Testing Inc. in Auburn, MA. He enjoyed spending time with family and playing cards.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Paul, David and Earl Turner; and sister-in-law, Mary Turner.

James is survived by his wife of 47 years, Connie Turner; sons, Clesson Turner and wife, Suzanne O'Neill and Cal Turner and wife, Penny Turner; sisters, Claire Giuranna and husband, Carl, Anne Cote and husband, Sonny, Lois Jenks and husband, Peter and Linda Lawson; three grandchildren, Kyle, Ryan and Nora Turner; and his faithful German Shepherd, Dakota.

A Funeral Mass will be held 11am January 30, 2018 at Saint Bernadette Catholic Church, 1005 Wilbon Rd, Fuquay Varina, NC 27526. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

Memorials may be made to the Vietnam Veterans of America.

Dear Connie & family,

I was very sorry to hear about Jimmy's passing. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. We haven't spoken in many years Connie, but I still think of you very fondly and I am truly sorry for your loss.

Thankfully my mom tells me that you are living close to one of your sons, so it is my hope that him & his family will help you get through this pain & heal.
