Joan Marianne Carranza

Joan Carranza of Holly Springs, NC passed away on 2/6/2025 at the age of 83. She was born on July 18th, 1941 in Queens, NY and grew up in Jackson Heights, NY. She was married to Charles Carranza for 55 years and raised 3 children in Cresskill, NJ. She spent her later years living in Palm Coast, Florida and eventually moved to Holly Springs, NC.

Joan worked with several different Northern NJ Banking Institutions as a banker. She loved to volunteer at the Red Cross in NJ and Florida, and enjoyed walks on the beach. She was an avid walker and actively participated in pilates, yoga, and swimming classes.

She is survived by her children: Daughter Joanne Scannell (Michael), sons Anthony Carranza and Gregory Carranza, and grandchildren Michaela Scannell, Kai Scannell, and Jacob Scannell.

The family would like to thank Katie Lamm and Kimberly Coleman for the care and compassion they showed to Joan in her final days.

A Celebration of Life will be held on June 28th, 2025 at 4:30 PM at Apex Funeral Home on 550 W. Williams St. Apex, NC 27502. A reception will follow.
