

John Sebastian Bomba Mikulsky, Esq. was born on May 21, 1982 in Rochester, New York and died peacefully in his home in Apex, North Carolina surrounded by his loving wife and his parents on December 31, 2019. His fearless and tenacious spirit touched the lives of everyone he met, especially as he fought a courageous two year battle with cancer.
John Sebastian will be lovingly remembered by his parents Dr. Patricia Bomba and Mr. John Mikulsky of Pittsford, New York; his wife, Elena (Tigaran) Mikulsky; his sister Dr. Stephanie (Jeffrey) Huston of Ellicott City MD; niece Madison; nephew Henry; godmother Aunt Marianne McCabe (Larry Wilde); godfather Uncle Ron & Aunt Florence Weiss; Aunt Connie Cooper; Aunt Sophie (Richard) Osborne; Aunt Terri & Uncle Frank Taptich; several treasured cousins, especially Mike McCabe and Chris Taptich, and many dear friends, especially Christian Tomas, whom he considered his brother.
John was a modern day Renaissance man who loved learning and teaching, an avid reader with an extensive lexicon. An athlete since childhood, he retained his competitive spirit and love of sports, especially Alabama football. He was a health and wellness enthusiast and excellent chef having mastered many ethnic cuisines. After spending a semester abroad studying at the Globe Theater in London, he performed in the Fringe Festival in Scotland and enjoyed world travel.
John was a graduate of McQuaid Jesuit High School and Syracuse University where he studied acting, playwriting and political science. He graduated from the University of Virginia School of Law, passed the Bar in California and Virginia. He founded Logic Theory while in Law School, initially tutoring students to take the LSATs, then focusing on preparing students to take the Bar using unique strategies he personally developed. He moved to the West Coast and worked in the District Attorney’s Office in San Francisco. He returned to the East Coast, spent a year serving as a volunteer at CASA in Pittsburgh PA, spent time in DC, Atlanta and ultimately settled in North Carolina.
A Celebration of John’s life will be held in Rochester NY in the spring.
