It’s been a year since you passed away, and you’re missed tremendously. The kids and I talk about you often, and there is rarely a day that goes by that a memory of you doesn’t pop into my head. Whenever I see a movie that you loved(Wedding Crashers, Step Brothers, Talladega Nights), drive past an Outback Steakhouse, hear a Rihanna song, see a real estate sign in someone’s yard, and I could go on and on. Just all kinds of little things that trigger some sort of memory. I hope you knew how much you meant to so many people. We were all very lucky to have known you, and have you in our lives. 

My heartfelt condolences to entire Peterson family on your loss!
 It was too early for my dear friend Jon to depart. I am quite saddened.
Jon was my agent for past few years who helped me find investment properties. He was a sincere, honest, dedicated professional providing right guidance in best interest of client. 
We were in continuous touch and exchanged several texts on alternate treatments and Yoga ever since he was diagnosed of his condition. 
Jon will be missed physically but will remain in our hearts forever!

I have never met someone as optimistic as Jon. He had the outlook in life that reminded me what it felt like the day before summer vacation. 
He was instrumental in me obtaining a post divorce goal by negotiating just a little more for my house.
He always checked on me and pushed away the dark clouds around me. I decided to work for Jon so some of his outlook would rub off on me, really no other reason. The guy really liked people. I am truly saddened by how this could happen to one who made this world smile.

My thoughts are with the Peterson family.  I really wish I could have been there tomorrow.  Jon was one of my closest friends.  He was my travel buddy to Key West and New Orleans over the years.  I will miss him dearly.

From the first day I met you, Jon, you were the most impressive of gentleman.  You expressed great care and love to you family, your colleagues, and your friends.  You displayed a passion for life that is seldom seen because you were realistic, appreciative, and supportive.  Personally, I cannot remember seen you "down," thoughtful, imaginative, challenged but never defeated.  I am among many who are better because we shared time and energy with you.  Thank you for your character.  I am so sorry we have suffered your loss, dear friend.

Jon first came into my life when i was 9 years old, he was the father figure i always needed.  He was there for me 100%, no matter what the “J man” always came through. I will never forget our endless inside jokes and nicknames and all our memories. I am truly blessed to have had the time that i did with him, words can’t express how much i miss him. I love you forever Joony.

You might say I "inherited" Jon. I was the office manager at Prudential when YSU and Prudential merged. It didn't take me long to see that Jon had great potential as an agent. One day he came to me and said "I want to make a six-figure income". Over a 28 year career of managing agents, I had heard that before. However, the moment Jon said it, I knew he meant it. He asked me if I would help him. I didn't make it easy on him...we met early in the mornings, before work...I gave him hard tasks to do, tasks that most agents were not willing to commit to doing...he gave 200%.  He reached that six figure income and more. After I retried in 2011, Jon would call me and tell me how much he and his team had sold monthly and quarterly. After each national convention, I looked forward to his call telling me what he and his team had achieved on the National Level. I have always been so proud of Jon. He reached his goals and more. He became "Legend".  During the time we spent together, I came to love Jon as a son. Being the mother of two daughters, I have told many people, friends and relatives alike, if I had son I would want him to be like Jon. I know his parents are so proud of the man he was. My heart hurts for his family and friends. All the adjectives have already been used to describe this incredible young man. He was truly amazing. He will live forever in the hearts and lives of those he touched. He certainly touched mine I love you Jon.

Jon is and always will be my brother.  I say this because when I married his brother David he became my family too.  From the moment I met Jon he welcomed me and celebrated my joining the Peterson clan. It seems so futile to sit here in an attempt to write words that could summarize such an amazing human being.  Jon had a heart of pure gold and never met a stranger, his smile always reached his beautiful blue eyes and his laughter was infectious.  My heart breaks that his life was cut so short especially after he had just started to find joy again.  We are so very grateful that he had time to enjoy his niece and nephew and that they got to know how incredibly brave, resilient and exceptionally kind he was.  I am immensely grateful that I was  to spend time with  him before he went home to his final resting place and he knew how loved he was. We will honor your memory Jon every day and keep your spirit alive in our hearts always. 


My family and I, are absolutely crushed that you’ll no longer be here to share your positivity and light. Everyone that knew you, loved you, and that really says a lot about someone. Your work ethic was like nothing I’ve ever seen before, and you worked so hard to bring yourself from the bottom to the top. Your career goals for yourself and the team you built, never stopped being pushed to the next level. You would say that you wanted to buy a hotel, or a helicopter, a castle with a drawbridge, and your own private island…and we all knew you meant it, and would probably end up doing everything you set out to do. Just know, that the kids and I will always love you and remember you fondly, and the rest of my family loves you too. 

I’m attaching a picture of you, on the day you finally got to ride a tandem bike. It was on your bucket list, and you were so happy to be able to mark it off of your list.

Rest easy now, Jonny P….you’ll be missed always.

I have known Jon since he first started in real estate about 17 years ago, and have so many images and memories of him. Jon was an extraordinary person in so many ways - engaging, funny, entertaining, dedicated, kind, compassionate, generous, supportive and more.  Jon and I would often engage in conversations about a wide range of topics when we were both working late at our office. I watched as Jon grew from a tentative new Agent into a dynamic, highly accomplished, highly respected professional. Jon was one of the most genuine and positive people, a caring and supportive mentor to many, a dedicated professional, and a good friend.

Jon told me years ago his goal was to be a "Legend" - an Agent who was recognized for several consecutive years of outstanding accomplishments. Jon did get that "Legend" recognition as an Agent. In reality, he clearly earned it as a person, as well, as evidenced by the tributes and heartfelt words of so many who are sharing their thoughts, and in the many, many lives he touched. I will miss Jon so much, and I send my deepest condolences to his family, his team mates, and those who knew, loved, and admired Jon.


I had the fortune to meet him and he was always respectful and kind to me thanks to him I met more wonderful people, I really liked talking with him, our talks were always very entertaining and educational, thank you very much for all Jon.

Joon Boon is one of the greatest, kindest, loving people I have ever met. He came into our lives when I had given up on having a “father” figure in my life. While I was 17-18 at the time, he was there for me and my younger sister from the very beginning. He was exactly what my younger sister needed in her life, and provided an effortless friendship to us that really brought our family together. He worked so so hard everyday in his life and I wish he had more time to truly enjoy it. I should have reached out to you the other day like I had planned. Just to have one last silly lil convo. Love you always Joon Boon. #moreyouthanyouknow 

We are so sorry to hear of Jon’s passing . We  first met Jon at Berkshire Hathaway and had the pleasure of working with him .He was such a bright light and had the most beautiful spirit .
He couldn’t have been more helpful to us and had such a passion for Real Estate and for life .
We would like his family and friends to know that he will live on in all of us and will never be forgotten . Rest In Peace Dearest Jon .

Jon and I were fellow agents during my time at BHHS.  I could tell the day I joined the agency that he was one to be watched.  Always a smile, jumping on his trampoline while taking 3-pointers from the opposite side of his office or lighting those candles. On a good day, I would find him riding his hoverboard around, which always made me smile.  Jon was continually full of helpful tips and tricks as we navigated the real estate world.  He was somewhat of a celebrity at the Ninja classes, sitting in and offering his advice and expertise.  We had our Chicago connection, often talking on Monday mornings about how much the Bears tanked, yet again, the day before.  He did seem to share my love of deep dish pizza and we would joke how you couldn't get pizza like that here in NC.  Sending heartfelt hugs and prayers to his parents, family and our greater real estate community as we navigate this world on this side of heaven without him.  

My good, dear friend.  The past 18 months have been rough for you.  You fought it with the same tenacity that got your where you were in your professional life.  You took a careful approach and worked as hard as you physically could to meet the goal.  But God had other plans.  He saw in you a bright and shining force that he wanted closer to him.  I will miss our talks, our jokes, our challenges, our compliments of each other, and the jabs!  I'll miss seeing you fly from one appointment to another.  I'll miss the Red Bull cans all over your office.  I'll miss that grin when you update me on where you were in your business plan.  You were SO proud of the Real Estate Team you had built.  And so was I, proud of you and them.  You always told me about them, and how great they were doing, and how much they meant to you.    My son will miss playing basketball in the office with you, while you two make noise as I am on the phone.  I'll miss lunches with you at places you wouldn't go without me.  I'll miss going to my desk to find your stuff scattered all over it because your desk was too full of 'other stuff'.    I'll just miss YOU buddy.  Rest easy.  I love you!      Seth
