Very sorry to hear of Don’s passing. We have very fond memories of him from our days in Packanack. Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire family.

I remember Mr. Kehoe as the rock of my teenage years. He always had a warm welcome and piece of good advice, moving calmly through a house full of teenagers. He was a great example of how to be there when it mattered and provide a steady environment regardless of life’s ups and downs. As my own parents divorced Mr. Kehoe was the loving father figure I really needed and I will forever be grateful for how the family took me in. For me Mr. and Mrs. Kehoe were also great examples of living their faith. They had a powerful belief in God always taking care of them and I’m sure that’s still the case. They demonstrated to me that being spiritual and living life fully can go hand in hand effortlessly. I try to live by their example and will miss Don very much. My love and prayers go out to John, Mrs. Kehoe and the entire family. Much love from all the Kabashinski’s.

15 Oakwood Dr in Packanack Lake, NJ was always a welcoming  place of refuge and a great meal.  Mr. Kehoe always met me with a smile and a wave to join everyone at the dinner table.  
I learned the perils of speeding from Mr Kehoe.  He was a hard worker and had to travel from NJ to North Carolina often for work.  One of the states along the way did not appreciate his urgency to get home to be with his family and suspended his license.  I remember him telling the story of  having to get out of the car at the border during his many long commutes and letting his passenger drive.  
I have a family of my own now and Don Kehoe was a Packanack Lake dad whose good example is one I try to live now.  I am saddened at his passing and send all my love to Mrs. Kehoe, John and the whole Kehoe clan.

Going to the Meadowlands Track in Secaucus, NJ was his way of taking time for himself. He had such an awesome responsibility with a wife and 11 children at home, he needed some "Don" time.  I asked him once if he won at the track? His response "I win some nights and lose other nights. If at the end of the year I break even, I'm ok with that." He taught me a valuable life lesson.  We win some , we lose some, but in the end, if we break even, I'm ok with that. Mr. Kehoe you've won more than you lost in my book. Thanks for the memories and the wonderful legacy you have left behind.        

Our prayers are with all of you, especially your mom, as you prepare to celebrate your dad's life here on earth. May God bring you the comfort of knowing that he is with all your departed loved ones and may you feel the joy of knowing that he is at peace with our Lord in a place of beauty and light. Mr. and Mrs. Kehoe (and the entire Kehoe family) were my safety net growing up as a child.  They had 11 of their own children, but they had no problem taking in more.  When I needed a reprieve from the craziness in my own home, I knew I could hang out safely with the Kehoe family until things cooled down in my own home.  

As everyone knows, Mr. Kehoe had a smile that lit up a room and that smile always made me feel safe and welcome.  I have never forgotten a specific humiliating incident that Mr. Kehoe made better at Friendlies, where we always went when we won summer swim meets at Packanack Lake.  My natural mother decided to leave with our family's bill unpaid and Mr. Kehoe picked up the tab....I'm not sure what else was on that bill, but I remember my order because I ordered it after every swim meet:  an orange soda, french fries, and an a peppermint ice cream cone.  Mr. Kehoe didn't have to do that, but he did.  He was an honorable man.

I enjoyed looking at the photos on this website and I smiled in particular when I saw the video with both Mr. and Mrs. Kehoe dancing at Sarah's wedding!  Although it was hard to recognize everyone after all these years, I did recognize Karen, Marianne, and Pat. 

Ever since Margaret told me about Mrs. Kehoe's stroke, I have been praying for her just about every night.  I will add Mr. Kehoe to my pray list, but there is no doubt he is going straight to heaven!

Mr. and Mrs. Kehoe and everyone in the Kehoe family...you have always and will always be in my heart.  Thank you for your support and love!

I have such fond memories of “Mr.Kehoe” growing up in Wayne, NJ!  What a fabulous father he was and such a wonderful person! He will be remembered and missed by so many.  My love and sympathy to the family. I miss you all! ❤️

Yesterday, my world froze, and I lost one of the most important & influential individuals in my life- Don Kehoe aka “The Don” aka “The Godfather” aka “Gpa”. It took me awhile to write down my thoughts because I really didn’t know where to begin and how much to write about my grandfather— there’s just way too much to write. 
I could write how he was a WWII veteran, a world renowned chemist who helped start massive companies such as Dow chemical and Pfizer Pharmaceuticals, invented instant pudding, invented the lining of dog food bags (just to name a few), father of 11 wonderful children (who I love to call my aunts and uncles), grandfather to 31, etc... 
the list of his accomplishments goes on and I’m definitely forgetting most of them. 
He was truly a God fearing man that only wanted the best for his family. I always looked forward to staying with him and my grandmother in NC when I was a teenager. I looked forward to it every year. In my early twenties, I was privileged to stay with him and my grandmother for a year while figuring school things out. He gave the best advice. I loved his advice and am truly going to miss this man.
I’m saddened because son will never get to meet you because you shaped our family’s core values. You made me want to be better in every way possible. I wish Reeder was able to meet you so you could impart your wisdom on him as you did me. My son will always know he had a loving, great grandfather. I’ll always share stories about you. 
I love you and will always try to live like you as an example. You and grandma are marriage goals. Period. If I could accomplish half the things you’ve done in your life, I’d be happy. This is not goodbye, but see you later. Enjoy heaven and save me a seat.
