She was born in Apex on April 26,1939 the daughter of the late S. Brack Jones and Olivia Franks Jones.
Joyce graduated from Apex High School and worked briefly at Rex Hospital on St. Mary’s Street where she met her future husband, the late Charles R. Beale. She and Charles lived in north Raleigh and were devoted members of Forest Hills Baptist Church where she reared her children, sang in the sanctuary choir, played
piano, and was active in international ministries and missions trips.
Surviving are her sons Roger Beale of Cary and Kevin Beale of Mocksville and their wives, Raygina and Crystal whom she loved very much. Her grandchildren Grace, Asa, Hannah and Rachel were the light of her life. She took great pride in her extended and loving family of aunts, uncles and cousins and gave them all the gift of keeping everyone in touch.
Her friends have been blessed by her calls, visits, homemade meals and cheese straws. Joyce celebrated when one celebrated and grieved when one grieved. In times of need, she simply did what was right and took great joy in the meaning of doing so.
Joyce loved sing-alongs and making crafts with her grandchildren. She blessed everyone who participated with her by not caring how well one sang or how beautifully one crafted. The joy for her was in being together and doing something fun.
Following a private graveside service, the family will receive friends at 2:00 at Woodhaven Baptist Church, 4000 Kildaire Farm Road Apex, with a service of remembrance and celebration at 3:00.
Memorials may be offered in her memory to First Baptist Church of Statesville, or the Endowment Fund of Woodhaven Baptist Church, Apex where her grandchildren are members.
