
Junior Raymond Williamson, 88, of Apex, NC died Monday at home. Born in Tennessee to Dora Ellison and Reuben Williamson, he later lived in Whitmire, SC where he was raised with love by his Granny, Emaline Williamson.
Junior served his country in the US Navy during WWII. He later moved to NY where he met the love of his life, Isabel. Together they shared 63 beautiful years and raised five children who share their strong belief in family. Junior retired from Brookhaven Memorial Hospital in East Patchogue, NY after 35 years of service as head chef. He was a gentle man with an endless smile and was happiest playing poker with family, cooking up a big pan of cornbread and waiting for a bite on his fishing line.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Robert; grandson, Christopher; brother, Bobby Gene and sisters, Pearl Parker and Aileen Riddle.
To cherish his memory, he is survived by his wife and four children: Susan Campen (Robert), Joseph Williamson (Annette), Linda Williamson (Jim Card), Maria Williamson (John Amato), 19 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, brothers, Carl and Lawerence “LC”, sisters, Reba Spires, Mary Sue Merchant, Martha Crain and Amanda McKibbin who was like a daughter to him.

The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff of Wake County Hospice who treated Junior and his family with the deepest compassion and support.

The family will receive friends 6-7pm Thursday, April 24, 2014 with a prayer service immediately following.
