Kevin Anthony Viau, loving husband of twenty-two years to Kelly Frye Viau and father to Jacob Anthony and Addison Haylie, passed away on November 15, 2019 at the age of 49. Kevin was born, September 13, 1970 to Peter Charles Viau and Vonnie Rae Viau (deceased) in Alexandria, Virginia and grew up in Woodbridge, Virginia. Kevin is preceded in death by his mother Vonnie, and his father-in-law, Albert Frye. Kevin is survived by his wife, Kelly, and their children Jake and Addie, his father, Peter, his brother Matthew and his wife Amy and their two daughters, mother-in-law, June Frye, and his in-laws, Tim and Trisha Frye, Rob Frye and Vicki Frye; along with 9 nieces and nephews.
Kevin served as a petty officer in the United States Navy for two years and went on to graduate from the University of Virginia in 1997 with a degree in Chemical Engineering. Kevin also received his Masters Degree in Business Administration from the College of William and Mary in 2003.
Over the past eighteen years working with companies such as Moen, Pfeiffer, Oerlikon, Leibold, and Tuthill Corporation, Kevin spent the early part of his career as a Process Engineer and later moved into sales. Kevin was considered the leading international expert in industrial vacuum technology. In 2017 Kevin joined NAVAC Inc., and helped form their U.S. subsidiary serving as the Director of Sales.
Kevin’s deepest love was for his family and his committed relationship with God. Kevin and Kelly met when they were teenagers and began dating in college. They married on October 18, 1997. He was a devoted husband and father to their children, Jake and Addie. Kevin loved nothing more than to be home spending time with his family and their dogs. Kelly, Jake and Addie loved him profoundly.
Kevin had a passion for soccer. He enjoyed playing soccer well into adulthood until his late thirties when injuries forced him to hang up his cleats. He loved watching Jake and Addie play and enjoyed getting them out to the field by their house to kick the ball with them both. Kevin was a “tinkerer” and was known for being able to fix anything. He especially enjoyed landscaping and woodworking. He enjoyed making furniture and working on projects for his home. One of his most treasured pieces is the bathroom vanity he and Jake built for their “tiny house”.
Kevin was a man of deep faith. The family will receive friends at Apex United Methodist Church, 100 S. Hughes, St. Apex, NC 27502, from 2:00pm - 4:00pm on Saturday, November 23, 2019. A memorial service will take place at 4:00pm on Saturday, November 23, 2019 at Apex United Methodist Church.
