Kurt was born November 24, 1962 in North East, Pennsylvania to Aquino and Nancy Pasquale. He enjoyed growing up in that small farming community, graduating from North East High School where he was on the wrestling team and selected by his classmates as best dressed. He maintained many close lifelong connections there. From a young age Kurt was involved in his father’s businesses Erie Weld Products and Spiral Stairs America. Drawing on his passion for woodworking, his efforts included developing beautiful wooden spiral staircases. Kurt studied mechanical engineering at Penn State University Behrend Campus, transferring to North Carolina State University where he received his baccalaureate degree. He excelled in a career as a sales executive for engineering CAD systems, working for a series of international businesses. With Hewlett Packard for most of this past decade, he was consistently the corporation’s top regional sales executive for engineering products. Always full of energy, Kurt simultaneously pursued other endeavors too. He was a partner in the firm Audio Artistry which produced exclusive high fidelity stereo speakers. Calling on his woodworking expertise and his constant pursuit of perfection, Kurt helped design and then produced the cabinetry for their full line of speakers. After the speaker business, he continued to maintain and grow his own industrial woodworking operation.
Kurt loved fine foods and was a fantastic cook. He also enjoyed activities like snow skiing, riding dirt bike motorcycles, and spending time with his friends. He greatest focus was children. He was closely involved in the scholastic and home lives of Lauren and Ryan and very proud of their accomplishments.
Kurt’s soulmate Sherrie and her family were a very important part of Kurt’s life too. They shared a rich daily home life, as well as frequently traveling to great places. He enjoyed being “Kernert” to their grandchildren Brady and Tucker.
