

She was born on 03/05/1969, in Yonkers, NY, and grew up in Yonkers, NY.
Laura graduated from Sacred Heart H.S., Yonkers, NY in 1987, and attended Mercy College, in Dobbs Ferry, NY.
Laura worked as Counsellor for HOPE House in Port Chester, NY.
Then later relocated to Apex, NC, where she worked as a baker for Dunkin.
She was an avid N.Y. Yankees fan, and one of the original “Bleacher Creatures”.
She was a pet lover and compassionately cared for them.
Laura was actively involved in the lives of her siblings, nieces, nephews and many friends, who she loved deeply. She also cared for her aging parents for many years.
Laura touched the lives of many with her humorous personality and her loving kindness.
Laura was preceded in death by her parents, John and Ann Sokol, of Apex, NC.
Laura is survived by sisters, Janet Burlew and Lynne Dehnel (husband Keith), of Apex, NC, and brother John Sokol (wife Dina) of Trumbull, CT. She is also survived by nieces Rachel & Kelly, and nephews Jeffrey, Gary, Kyle, Thomas, Louis & Johnny, and good friend Karen.
Family and friends are invited to attend her Wake at Apex Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 30th.
Visitation with family and friends will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
Her burial will be on Saturday May 3rd, at 11:00 am, at Kensico Cemetery, 271 Lakeview Ave, Valhalla, NY.
