

Lola was born April 27, 1930 in Mocksville, NC to the late David Dyson and Ivey Richardson Dyson. She was a wonderful cook at Hornes Restaurant in Mocksville for many years where she blessed others with delicious meals. Lola loved the outdoors and enjoyed planting flowers and making her yard beautiful.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Lumley; son, Maze Combs; brothers, Linney Dyson; Leslie Dyson; and Leon Dyson.
Lola is survived by her children, Elaine Parker (Doug) of Angier; Dianne Duke (Kenny) of Apex; Dena Wilson (Tony) of Mocksville; Gary Combs (Vivian) of Longs, SC; Jane Pack (Fred) of Randleman; and Keith Lumley (Katie) of Mocksville; 14 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held 2pm Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at Calahan Baptist Church Cemetery, 470 Calahan Rd, Mocksville, NC 27028. The family will receive friends 6-8 pm Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at Apex Funeral Home, 550 W. Williams St., Apex, NC 27502.
