Mabel Reams Lawrence

Mabel Reams Lawrence, 92, homemaker, died Wednesday, November 10, 2010 surrounded by her family in Apex, NC. During her life she enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling with friends, and being an active member of the Golden Age Club. She was an accomplished baker, painter and basket weaver. She also worked at Lufkin in Apex for 12 years. Many hours of her life were spent doing for others. Mabel had a passion for creating beautiful porcelain dolls and dressing them for her grandchildren. She was a faithful servant to her church, community and family. Her positive influence will be greatly missed.

Surviving are her three sons, Callie Wray Lawrence Jr., Donald Wayne Lawrence and wife Sharon, and Hal Aley Lawrence all of New Hill; her sister, Mrs. Emmeline Reams Fahey; sister-in-law, Ms. Edith Lawrence; 4 grand-children and 5 great grand-children. She was preceded in death by her husband, Callie Wray Lawrence, Sr.

Visitation will be Saturday November 13, 2010 from 12:30pm until 2:00pm at New Hill Baptist Church. The funeral service will be at 2:00pm with Rev. Joe Pleasants officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

At other times the family will be at the home of Hal Lawrence at 4028 Old US One, New Hill.
