Margaret Shea Sabato

Margaret “Peggy” Shea Sabato passed away peacefully on June 7, 2025 at the age of 86 in Smithfield, NC after a short illness. Peggy was born in Philadelphia, PA on January 5, 1940 to the late Charles and Dorothy Shea. She raised her family in Wilmington DE prior to moving to Holly Springs NC.

She was a 1957 graduate of John Bartam High School where she graduated with honors. She held various administrative positions before retiring from Delmarva Power & Light.

Peggy loved spending time with her sons & grandsons, bowling, watching old black and white movies, and doing crossword puzzles.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings Naomi, Ruth, John, Thomas, Barbara, and Kathleen.

She is survived by her sons, David Sabato (Denise) of Wilmington, DE and Stephen Sabato (Sharon) of Holly Springs, NC and Leonard Sabato of Claymont DE. Her grandsons Nicholas, Shawn and Jacob. Her brother Charles Shea(Karen) and her sister Carol Beecher.

Memorial Service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be donated to the American Heart Association.
