Marie was born October 10, 1927 in Chatham County to the late Mary Etta Briggs and John Henry Briggs. She was a member of Martha’s Chapel Christian Church in Apex.
Marie was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Eugene E. Holt; sister, Irene Wilson; and brother, Billy Briggs.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda Smith; son, Stacy Eugene Holt; brother, Bobby Briggs; sister, Alma Council; six grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
A graveside service will be held 11 am Saturday, May 31, 2014 at Martha’s Chapel Christian Church Cemetery, 2811 Martha’s Chapel Road, Apex, NC 27523. The family will receive friends 7-9 pm Friday, May 30th at Apex Funeral Home, 550 W. Williams St., Apex, NC 27502.
