Dan is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Peggy Yarborough. He was a graduate of Hargrave Military Academy and attended Mars Hill College before proudly serving eight years in the United States Air Force. Following his military service, Dan dedicated 38 years to Duke University before retiring. He was a faithful member of Trailside Church in Cary, NC.
He is also survived by his two sons, Marvin Yarborough and Mike Yarborough (Lisa Yarborough); five grandchildren, Danielle Yarborough, Phillip Yarborough (Chelsea Yarborough), Jeannine Harrell, Anna D’Amour, and Matthew Yarborough; and one great-grandchild, Claire Yarborough.
Dan will be remembered and deeply missed by his family, his church and all who knew and loved him. One of his favorite encouragements from the Word was Psalm 1.
Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers;
but his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night.
He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither.
In all that he does, he prospers.
