

Born in the vibrant borough of Brooklyn, New York, Mary was the cherished daughter of Joseph and Florence McGrath. Her journey through life was marked by devotion, resilience, and a profound capacity for joy and laughter. Mary's professional life was a testament to her dedication and work ethic. She embarked on her career at Chase Manhattan Bank in New York City in an entry-level position. Through her hard work and determination, Mary rose through the ranks, earning multiple promotions and achieving the esteemed position of Assistant Vice President by the time she retired at the young age of fifty-three. Her colleagues admired her tenacity and leadership, and she left an indelible mark on those she worked with.
A woman of deep faith, Mary was a faithful member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Roman Catholic Church. She served her congregation as a greeter and usher, always welcoming parishioners with a warm smile and a kind heart. Her devotion to God and her love for the Blessed Mother, particularly Our Lady of Fatima, were central to her life. Mary held saints like Saint Michael and Saint Francis close to her heart, drawing inspiration from their virtues.
Mary's life was enriched by her love for sports, particularly baseball. She was an enthusiastic fan of the New York Mets, cheering them on with unwavering loyalty even during challenging seasons. Her passion for the Dallas Cowboys was equally fervent, and she delighted in calling them "America's Team."
Despite life's adversities, Mary chose happiness and embraced life with a joyful spirit. She cherished laughter and found joy in making others smile. Her whimsical personality was reflected in her beloved collection of stuffed animals, with a special fondness for a stuffed monkey aptly named Monkey. Mary's playful nature and childlike wonder were a reflection of her enduring spirit, one that refused to grow up.
Mary was predeceased by her loving husband, Nicholas Millionis, her two remarkable daughters Lorraine and Mary Ann Keane, her brothers Joseph and Vincent, and her four sisters Mary Winifred, Clara, Florence, and Theresa.
Her legacy lives on through her surviving daughters, Diana Keane and Patricia Stafford, her son-in-law Wes Stafford, and her cherished grandson Salvatore Mercadante.
A memorial service in celebration of Mary's life will be held at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Roman Catholic Church, located at 30 Schoolhouse Road, Manchester Township, NJ 08759. Family, friends, and all who knew Mary are invited to join in honoring her life and legacy.
A final burial will be held at the Long Island National Cemetery, located at 2040 Wellwood Ave, Farmingdale, NY 11735 on April 23, 2026 at 2:00 PM.
