Michael James Thorpe

He is survived by his devoted wife, Barbara Thorpe; daughter, Lisa Thorpe- Elia and her husband Todd; and his two grandsons Colin Elia and Carson Elia; brothers: William Thorpe, Kenneth Thorpe, Robert Thorpe, David Thorpe, Jamie Thorpe; sisters: Janet Verost, Sharon Montanya, Kathleen Thorpe, and Judi Mann.

Mr. Thorpe is preceded in death by his brother, Christopher Thorpe.

Michael was a Member of the North Congregational Church, Middletown, New York and a member of the Elks Lodge, Middletown, New York. Michael will be remembered for the love he had for his family and friends. He enjoyed making people smile and was always willing to do for others. He enjoyed several past-times which included bowling, motorcycle cruisin’, hunting, golfing, fishing, & cooking. He also loved Oldies music, singing karaoke and dancing. Two memorial services will be held:

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 8, 2012 at 7:00 pm at the Trinity Episcopal Church, 1128 South Main Street, Fuquay Varina, NC 27526.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 22, 2012 at 2:00 pm at the Otisville- Mt. Hope Presbyterian Church, 25 Main St., Otisville, NY 10963.

JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) is an organization that Michael & his immediate family greatly supports in honor of Carson Elia. Also to the American Heart Association in Michael’s honor.
