We were so heartbroken to learn of Michael’s passing. Michael was more than just a friend… we loved him and DeAnna like family. The love Michael and DeAnna displayed to each other was so loving and heartfelt. 

Michael was always there when we needed him. When my father passed in February, he was there for me giving advice and reassuring me all would be ok.

He was such a positive person and we loved him dearly. Many nights, Brian would make a new dish for dinner and we always sent Michael home with food. He would always give his honest opinion. Michael and Brian loved to talk about electronics and how we could make our home more tech savvy. And everything else under the sun.:: ☀️ including stocks, family, work. And even more! 

Michael was an all around great friend and confidant. We will miss him greatly. 

DeAnna our prayers are with you, your children, and Christopher. I know you wanted more time and deserved more time with him. You both filled a void in each other’s life and you were both better because of what you brought to each other. 

I’m still in shock that I can’t reach out to my favorite gopher. He treated everyone with dignity, respect, and no judgement. The world has lost a great person. We will forever treasure our precious memories and moments with Michael and DeAnna

A letter to Michael:  
To the man who treated my mom like a princess. The one who cared for her when she was at her lowest. The one who taught her how to love after believing she was unlovable Thank you for everything you did. Calculating your day down to the second To spend any waking moment with her. Being the only fatherly figure my sister ever had. You shined light in the dark, fought battles and wars for them. it’s surreal, knowing you’re gone, you were perfect health. i’ll never be able to tell you all the accomplishments I have upcoming, or the battles I have yet to face. But I know you’re watching over keeping us safe just like old times. Thank you for everything. I love you.

Thank you, Michael. Thank you for treating my mom like a princess. Thank you for treating me like one of your own. Thank you for showing my brother what a man is supposed to be. You were the light in a dark place. You healed hearts that you didn’t break. You showed me the relationship I aspire to have in the future. You brought the light back into my mom’s eyes. I would do anything to hear you call me “Miss Kate” or have one of your home-cooked meals again. You healed the little girl inside of me who wanted nothing more than to be loved by a fatherly figure.  I’ve never seen my mom so happy, fulfilled and carefree as she was with you. I will forever be in awe of your methodical planning to ensure every extra second could be spent with our family and the way you showed up for every event or milestone. Thank you for being our protector. A little piece of my heart went with you to heaven. It was an honor to be in your orbit. I know that you will be with me as I navigate the next chapter of my life. I hope I always make you proud. Thank you for everything. ❤️

We always were the same “fancy” clothes for different events. I could show up in a paper bag and Mike would tell me I was beautiful. He always made me feel so special and loved.

We’re soaking wet because of the rain, we’re a little bit cold, but we’re so happy because we can be together. We took every opportunity to make an adventure, take pictures, and enjoy life.

Boating adventures were always fun… Once we got the boat in the water. I wasn’t as helpful as his wife Renate  had been, so this was a growing moment for us. It was sometimes hard to be in a relationship with somebody who lost a wife that meant so much to him. It was hard to know where I belonged but we found our way.

When we first started dating I needed to make a little extra money to get on my feet financially. I joined him  and drove cars with him for the summer. It was also a great excuse  for us to be together and it gave us some  of our first fun adventures.

Michael gave me the best three years of my life! I was giddy in love with this amazing man from the first moment I met him until the last moment of his life. I learned to embrace all his unique and fun qualities and cherish all the practical ways he showed his love. 
I’ll miss so many things about our life together like our weekly cooking adventures, making raisin nut bread, dancing for no reason, playing with all the new features on his Tesla, people watching, stopping at random places for an adventure, running errands, our Sheetz trips, watching him return grocery carts with his perfect aim, listening for his music as he came down my road to pick me up, the silly movies we watched, the projects and errands we’d do together, our many Tesla stock strategy sessions, my 10:00 AM honey checks, our countless texts and memes we’d share, my Boone walk and talks, holding hands all the time, and a million more! We enjoyed the little things in life and made everyday fun! 
We thought we had so much more time together, so we made plans for our future when both our kids went away for college. We were doing our best to meet their needs, which meant separate houses for a bit longer: We’d often say “A year from now we’ll have all the time to be together”. 
Michael worked hard to earn my two kids’ trust. He did that with patience, calmness, understanding, and by showing up and modeling his strong values each everyday. Everyone who knows Michael, eventually loves him! 
We had to grow as people to make our relationship this strong. We learned how to communicate effectively by understanding each other’s personalities and communication styles. We learned to use the words “Let’s use this as a growing moment” and then we’d share and discuss our feelings. 
My heart aches for Brennan, Kate, and especially Christopher. It all seems so unfair! Michael helped put my broken pieces of a hard life back together, but now I feel shattered again. Michael was truly the love of my life!

Sorry to hear that Michael had passed. Enjoyed working with him at John Hiesters.

I was lucky enough to know Michael through DeAnna. Being DeAnna's co-teacher and friend, we spend many hours in each other's presence, and in turn, I was a front-row witness to a love so sweet and kind, and joyful. The way he'd make her laugh during their evening phone conversations when we'd travel for work. The way they loved to hold hands. The way the rest of the world disappeared when they were in their zone together. They adored each other and their relationship was special. 

 DeAnna, I am so sorry for the loss you, Kate, and Brennan, are experiencing and I hope you and Christopher can find comfort in each other's heartbreak. It is a truly devastating situation. 

Michael, thank you for offering to pick us up from the airport when DeAnna and I travel together. You made riding in your car such a neat experience.  Thank you for saving us fun recyclable items for our build projects in class or stopping by the school to share a joke during one of your Gopher runs.  But mostly, thank you for bringing my friend happiness for 3 wonderful years. You were very loved and will be very missed. 10 am will never be the same. Rest well, my friend.

So sad to see you go.    You were such a  good person who cared about everyone.   I was lucky to share four years of my life with you.    My daughter Jackie and I will never forget.  The relationship we. Had in the past.      God.  Will watch over your sin Christopher.   You will be in peace with your wife. In Heaven.      RIP.  Mike.

I woke up to news Saturday morning that I still cannot accept. My dear friend Michael Yorrie had passed. 

Before I tell you about my experiences with one of the greatest humans I’ve ever known, my broken-heart goes out to Christopher, DeAnna and his entire family for their loss. I’m so sorry. He will forever be missed. 

While Gopher will never see the likes of someone like Michael again, we’ll communicate his impact on our company page to recognize his unduplicable accomplishments there. 

Instead, I want to tell you about my friend Michael. From the day we met Michael in April of 2019, he quickly earned the trust of our entire family. He was there for so many important milestones for me personally, and so damn helpful. I began to lose count of the phrase “I couldn’t have done it without you” because of him. He’s given Heidi and I and our children, safe rides home, taken care of our home while away on travel, watched our dogs (taken them home with him actually because he loved Bandit), and helped with events, birthdays, parties and projects... and that honestly is a small fraction of what else he’s done for us.  He would always ask if there was something else he could do to help and although I wouldn’t ever let it happen, he would always say “and you really don’t need to pay me anything to do this” because he would do anything to lend a hand. Even our dogs would always know when he would pull up at our house and look forward to him petting them. We trusted him with everything- he was part of our family.

I’ll always cherish the conversations we had… although they are haunting me at the moment because I can’t hear myself making it crystal clear to him how much I appreciate him. I sure hope he is in a place where he can hear me now… because if he can, he will definitely know. 

I’m eternally grateful for you dude and so are the hundreds of people that had the privilege of knowing you. I miss you terribly already.

My heartfelt condolences to Christopher and family

I was so shocked to get an email saying that Michael has passed! He was my favorite Gopher and just genuinely a good guy! My condolences to his family and I am sending prayers of comfort!

Oh my goodness,  Michael was an awesome guy!!! I knew him as my Gopher Pro and a stand up guy!! I am shocked at this news. He will sadly be missed by so many people!!!! Rest in Peace Michael, I will miss you my friend!
