Married Samuel Bray Jr. August 19, 1960 (Deceased )

While raising a family, Motella ran a small business as a Fashion Designer and seamstress. Her creations were often featured in local fashion events. She enjoyed gardening and planting flowers. Motella loved engaging with her children in playing softball, relay races and “double dutch.” Her culinary skills-produced family favorite desserts like sweet potato and lemon Merengue pie. Singing and dancing were commonplace and created a warm family atmosphere. In addition to raising her own family, she loving cared for and supported the children of her deceased daughter Shirlicia Bray. Motella truly loved her family.
In time her love for God increased. Motella was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on May 25, 1974. Her love for Jehovah and the Bible truths that she learned motivated her to spend 31 years as a regular pioneer minister devoting up to 90 hours a month sharing and teaching others about God’s purpose for restoring the earthly paradise by means of his Kingdom. She also, served as a volunteer on Kingdom Hall and Assembly Hall construction projects. Motella was a pillar in the congregation. She truly loved the congregation, her spiritual family. She humbly and kindly assisted others in the Field ministry and helped many to cope with life’s challenges by sharing timely Bible verses.
When riding along with the field service group to the local congregation’s territory, there were times the group had to “recalculate the route,” because they were lost. But Motella came to the rescue guiding the group to the planned destination. They remarked, “we don’t need GPS, because we have “Mo-Mo.”
Motella is survived by her twin sister Montella Adams of Detroit MI; her eldest son Tony Bray and his wife Sharon Bray of Apex NC; daughters, Myrtle Bray Heron and her husband Dwight Heron of Raleigh NC, Donna Bray and Lonia Bray Martin of Long Island NY; her youngest son Leon Williams and his wife Eva Williams of Brooklyn NY; Grand Children Vanessa Dudley, Curtis Dudley, Sheena Bray, Lionel Bray, LaShanna Bray, Jasmyn Bray, Devon Bray, Deanna Bray, Jenah Williams, Shiane Williams, Rayna Williams, Kimora Williams, Leah Williams, And a host of, great grands, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends who deeply miss her.
