A retired logic designer and systems analyst for IBM, he retired to Florida 32 years ago from Wappingers Falls, NY after 33 years of service at IBM.
A native of Rosendale, NY, he was a WWII US Navy submarine veteran, and served aboard the U.S.S. Spikefish as an electronics technician. He was active in the Town of Poughkeepsie Little League and a member of the IBM Quarter Century Club. While in Florida, he was a member of the Oak Run Travel Club. Most recently, he enjoyed volunteering his time to support Special Olympics North Carolina.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Shirley Lippert, Apex, NC, and their five children - Elizabeth Willison, Raleigh, NC; Paul Lippert (Ellen), Casper, WY; John Lippert, Raleigh, NC; Jean Scazzero, Cary, NC; Donna Watson (David), Apex, NC; and 11 grandchildren – Courtney, Kyle, Jessica, Rachel, Amy, Nicholas, Rebecca, Melanie, Aaron, Brian, and Griffin; and 13 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Francis Lippert, College Point, NY; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Margaret George.
