Paul Mills was born on May 6, 1963, in Raleigh, North Carolina to Norman and Pat Mills. As the only son and middle child, Paul spent his childhood in Trinity, North Carolina, where he developed the faith, character, and compassion that would define his life.
Paul graduated from Trinity High School and continued his education at John Wesley College before earning his Master of Divinity degree in Biblical Counseling from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, NC. His love for God was evident in his ministry to his family and friends every day.
In 1992, Paul married the love of his life, Paula Holland. Together they built a life defined by love of family, faith in God, and a shared commitment to each other. They were blessed with three wonderful children, Kaitlyn, Ryan, and Joshua, whom he loved deeply. Paul was a devoted husband, father, brother, and friend whose greatest joy came from spending time with those he loved.
Paul is survived by his wife, Paula; his children, Kaitlyn (Garret), Ryan, and Joshua; his sisters, Kathy Mills Gencay and Patti Owen; along with many extended family members and cherished friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Norman and Pat Mills.
Paul had a generous heart and a genuine love for people. Whether with family, friends, or strangers, he consistently offered encouragement, kindness, and support. Golf, music, grilling, and family gatherings brought him great happiness and were among the moments he treasured most. Above all, Paul loved Jesus Christ. His faith was evident in the way he lived each day. He was a faithful Christian example to his children and to all who knew him. Ministry was not simply something Paul did, it was who he was. In everyday conversations and activities, he shared the love of Christ, encouraged others, and sought opportunities to make a positive difference in the lives of those around him.
Paul's legacy of faith, love, generosity, and encouragement will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and friends. Though he will be deeply missed, those who knew him find comfort in knowing that he is now in the presence of the Savior he loved and served so faithfully.
"Well done, good and faithful servant." — Matthew 25:23
The family invites all who knew and loved Paul to remember him by sharing kindness, offering encouragement, and living out the faith that was so central to his life.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the many family members and friends who offered faithful prayers on Paul’s behalf, wrote letters of encouragement, and delivered meals. These acts of kindness were so appreciated. The family also thanks Amedisys Hospice and Transitions LifeCare for their constant and compassionate care.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life service at Salem Baptist Church in Apex on Saturday, July 25th, at 11, followed by a reception and visitation with the family.
