Oscar Benton Maxwell, Jr, 77, of Siler City, formerly of Claudville, VA died on Sunday, November 28, 2010 at Duke University Medical Center. Mr. Maxwell was born on May 30, 1933 in Hoke County, NC to Oscar Benton Maxwell, Sr and Isabel Blount Maxwell.
Mr. Maxwell is survived by his wife, Lib Maxwell; son, Stan Maxwell (Tracey) of Zebulon; and daughter, Diane Horton (Greg) of Siler City, brother, George Maxwell (Beverly) of Dothan, AL; sisters, Inex Gore of Chipley, FL, and Pat Buie (Bradley) of Raleigh; grandchildren, Michael Maxwell and Jessi Maxwell.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Archie Maxwell and sister, Betty Melin
The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 pm Thursday, December 2, 2010 at Apex Funeral Home, 550 W. Williams St., Apex.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, December 5, 2010 at Grace Baptist Church, Stuart, VA.
