Patricia Reid Murdoch

Patricia was born in Catrine, Scotland on May 20, 1933 to the late Thomas and Euphemia McGarry. She emigrated to the United States in 1954, eventually making her home in Pittsburgh where she lived for over 60 years. Patricia worked at The Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh in Oakland for much of her career, in between raising a family, volunteering at the local elementary school library, and serving as a PTA member. She enjoyed baking and the annual family vacation to Niagara Falls, Canada. Patricia and her late husband William met in Niagara Falls in the late 1950’s at a reunion of Scottish Clans.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, William; her sister, Anna McGarry and her brother-in-law, Peter Drury.

Patricia is lovingly remembered by her son, James (Karen) Murdoch, daughter, Lorna (Scott) Harger; sister, Irene Drury; grandchildren, Katherine, Matthew and Grace Murdoch and Jackson and Dillon Harger.
