Patsy Neal Allen

Patsy was born April 9, 1931 in Burlington, NC to the late Oscar and Mary Wells Neal. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Donna Marie Neal and Bettie Sue Neal, brother Billy Earle Neal, and husbands Leon Bethea May and Zebulon Vance Allen.

After attending Elon College, Patsy enjoyed a lengthy career as an executive assistant at Holt Manufacturing Company in Burlington.

Spending countless hours outside on her patio, Patsy found joy in the sunshine, the rain, birds splashing in her birdbath, flowers, wind chimes, watching people, and waving to passersby. She developed a love for reading and listening to books late in life, and loved nothing more than devouring a novel on her patio, with a glass of sweet iced tea by her side. Patsy had a keen memory and loved sharing family tales, never withholding any colorful details.

Patsy’s greatest passion in life was her family, spending time with them and staying connected with all of them, whether near or far.

She is survived by her loving children and their families: Teresa May and her son Jeffrey Young; LeAnne and Brad Stipp and their children Bradley, Jr., Spencer, Mary Neal, and Mitchell; Jimmy and Marti May and their son Stuart; Steve May and his daughters Sophie and Jillian.

A Memorial Visitation in celebration of Patsy’s life will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at Apex Funeral Home, followed by a private family commemoration.
