

Penelope L. Field, 64, of Apex, died at Duke University Medical Center in the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit on October 3, 2013 surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Field was born on January 14, 1949 in St. Louis Missouri to Harry Fisher and Irma Beihle Fisher. Mrs. Field was deeply committed to the nursing profession. She held a BA in Health Education and a Masters in Nursing. In keeping with her profession, she loved to help people. She loved to study and was an avid reader. Mrs. Field enjoyed traveling with her family. She was known to be quick witted and opinionated. Mrs. Field was a long time active member of Cary Alliance Church.
She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Terry Field; son: Shawn Field and wife, Angie of Cary; daughter: Jaci Field and partner, Simone Ward of Raleigh; sister: Karen Krodinger and husband, Donald of Desoto, MO. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren: Eric, Madison and Declan.
Penelope was preceded in death by her son: Eric Lee Field, sister: Sherry Eads, and her parents: Irma and Harry Fisher.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Monday, October 7, 2013 at Apex Funeral Home, 550 W. Williams St. Apex.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at Cary Alliance Church, 4108 Ten Ten Rd, Apex, NC 27539.
Burial will follow in the Apex Cemetery.
