Uncle Ray, I’ll never forget when you and my parents were so upset that we were stuck on the ski lift during the oktober fest at hunter mountain  lol. Becky and I had matching sunglasses shirts (because we believed we were sisters). And, let’s not forget the memories in Maryland of watching the babysitter’s club! We knew each and every line (and, so did you) then you canned us from watching it!  Until we meet again and thanks for my one and only Harley ride. God bless!

You loved me, encouraged me, cheered for me, believed in me. You've been my teacher, my mentor, my guide. You're my father but also a friend. I remember you in the comfort of my thoughts and in the memory of a song. In the pages of an album filled with pictures of your life. In the places we discovered together and in the moments that we shared. In the laughter that still dances in my heart and in the legacy of love you left and the stories that were only yours to tell. And always more than anything, I remember you in your love that lives within my heart. You did not lose to cancer. It did not define who you were, how you lived, and the manner in which you lived. From you, I learned to reach for the fight I possess inside and apply it fearlessly to my life. It was through your vulnerability, that you taught me the real value of strength in never giving up.
I hear your voice. I see your face.

Rebecca our hearts go out to you and your family at the loss of your  beloved dad.
We got to know Ray over the years at family gatherings , grandpa will miss the stories he and Ray shared while they had smoke breaks together . Rest in peace

Rebecca and Jessica our hearts are heavy with grief for you in the loss of your dad.  I've struggled with your loss.  We never know where the paths in life will lead us but we always have the memories to hold onto.  Your dad was a big part of my life for many years and I'm thankful for that and for you Rebecca. Those years will always hold a special place in my heart.  I enjoyed the conversations that him and I had over the last several months.  I will miss him. Jim, James and I are deeply sorry for your loss. Rest in peace Ray.

I have been in a sobering place since learning of the loss of Ray.
My brother-in-law for many years, although that did change, it is hard to remove him from a position of endearment in my life.  It truly is difficult for me to express the emotions I have concerning this news. The last time I saw him was in Maryland at his Rebecca's wedding many years ago. I didn't realize how good it would be to him again. I would then, as never before realize how special he was. There is not time, nor space to express the thoughts I've had, and the flood of memories that have come to mind. I will leave this poem in his honor instead.

It's strange to be here in this place
When I think of last I saw your face
Your charming smile I noted well
Displacing years that time might tell
It may be rare when families part
How some will never leave your heart
I was a teen when we first met
When my sister's heart you stole and wed
Brother-in-law you came to be

That have come alive inside of me
