Born on January 11, 1965, in Rapides Parish, Louisiana, Robert was the son of Richard F. Albright and the late Colleen Thorogood.
His life journey took him from his Louisiana roots to Fort Walton Beach and Bradenton, Florida, before he eventually settled in Apex, North Carolina.
Robert was a graduate of Hillsborough Community College, where he earned an associate degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology. His professional path reflected his dedication to patient care and compassion.
Those who knew Rob would describe him as complex and sensitive with a sharp sense of humor that could light up any room. He had a deep love for classic cars and spent countless hours tinkering with his beloved Chevelle—affectionately known as “HIS BABY.” Rob loved the water and spent a lot of time on the beach, fishing and boating. He also had a keen eye for thrifting and never passed up a good bargain.
Family time was central to Rob's life. He cherished moments spent with loved ones and delighted in playing with the family dogs. His generosity was legendary—he truly embodied the phrase “give you the shirt off his back,” always placing the needs of others before his own.
Robert is survived by his devoted wife, Karen E. Albright of Apex; his son, Kameron S. Albright
of Apex; his father, Richard F. Albright; and his siblings: Belinda Sawyers of Bellevue, Nebraska; and Greg Albright of Denver, Colorado.
Family friends will gather to honor Robert’s life from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at Apex Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Marfan Foundation at www.marfan.org.
