Robert Kenneth Bigham

Robert Kenneth (Kenny) Bigham, 85, of Durham, North Carolina passed away Friday, July 31, 2026. He was born February 7, 1941 in Union County, North Carolina to the late Robert Ney and Louie Gordon Bigham.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Sylvia Jenks Bigham.

Kenny was a graduate of Southern High School in Durham. He was a Founder and Charter Member of Leesville Road Baptist Church and a longtime member of Olive Branch Baptist Church.

Kenny owned and operated a family business, City Auto Parts in Durham, for many years before retiring to start B&S Sales with his son, Scott. He proudly served part-time in the NC National Guard from 1958-1966. He enjoyed a casual game of golf in his younger years and was an avid Nascar fan throughout his life. He always enjoyed being around his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Mr. Bigham is survived by his sons, Todd Bigham (Michelle), Scott Bigham (Stacy) and Steve Bigham (Melissa); grandchildren, Amanda Peyton (Josh), Hunter Bigham, Madelyn Bigham and Emmitt Bigham; great grandchildren, Forrest Peyton, Willow Peyton and Nova Peyton.

The family will receive visitors at Apex Funeral Home at 550 W. Williams St in Apex on Friday, August 7 from 2-3:30pm.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Kenny’s name to Transitions LifeCare of Wake County or the Wounded Warriors Foundation.
