Robert was born on May 20, 1927 to the late Frank and Elizabeth Nolan Kukler in Detroit, Michigan. Robert was known as Bob to all his family and friends. Bob was one of 7 children (5 sisters and 1 other brother). Bob was drafted into the Army near the end of World War II. After his return from the Army he continued his career as a US Postman in Detroit. Bob then went on to complete his Bachelors degree in Accounting from the University of Detroit and became a CPA. He later earned his Juris Doctrate degree from the University of Detroit School of Law and was a licensed attorney in the State of Michigan. He was employed by the US Internal Revenue Service and was ultimately transferred to their Headquarters office in Washington DC.
In addition to his parents, Bob is preceded in death by his sisters Mary Kukler Rozman, Ann Kukler Brady, Patricia Kukler Bauman and his brother William Kukler.
Bob will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 60 years, Gloria Lenzini Kukler; daughter, Lynne Smith (Barry); and grandson Ryan Michael Smith as well as his sons Joseph Stephen Kukler and Christopher Mark Kukler. He is survived by his sisters, Sue Kukler Grenier and Marge Kukler Breen.
Bob was a devoted Catholic, bridge player and loved to travel the world with his wife Gloria. Bob will be placed to rest in the columbarium at St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church in Apex, NC.
