He is survived by his wife, Cyndi; their daughter, Holly; their son, Ryan; his son from a previous marriage, Eric; his brothers, Bill and David; his sister, Dorothy Jo Voigt; and their families. He was the eldest son of Ella West and the late Roger Dalton Shannonhouse.
Robert served in the US Army Security Agency from 1962-1965. He received his Juris Doctorate Degree in June of 1972 from Humphrey's School of Law. He had a 39 year career in the insurance field, including 25 years as an insurance attorney with IAT Occidental Fire and Casualty; retiring in 2011.
