Roger W. Clarke

Roger W. Clarke of Apex, North Carolina, passed away on May 4, 2026, at the age of 61. Roger was born in Chilton Hospital, Pompton Plains, NJ, on July 21, 1964. Roger spent his early years in Pompton Plains.

Roger graduated from Blair Academy in May of 1984. He went on to study political science at Seton Hall University, where he earned his degree in 1988. During this time, his love of cars began. Roger worked in the automotive industry as an executive vice president with Event Solutions International. Later, Roger spent some time as a student of veterinary science at St. George’s University in Grenada and completed four semesters. He later spent his time in Connecticut, Staten Island, and Brooklyn, where he worked as a veterinarian practice manager. Recently, Roger was working with students in the Apex Public School system.

Roger met the love of his life, Kristen (nee Bing) Clarke, in 2001. They were married on April 12, 2003, and lived a beautiful life together. With the birth of their son, Zachary, on May 31, 2008, and their second son, Aidan, on May 2, 2010, their family was complete. When tragedy befell their family in July 2012 with Kristen’s diagnosis of ovarian cancer, they fought long and hard to overcome this disease. Unfortunately, Kristen passed away on July 20, 2015, after a long and courageous battle.

Roger and the boys relocated to Apex, North Carolina, in 2020. His sister Bernadette Clarke joined them, helping to create a loving home for the family. Roger was always very appreciative of the love and support shown to him by the entire Bing family. Roger was predeceased by his father, Roger E. Clarke, and his wife Kristen (nee Bing) Clarke. Roger is survived by his sons Zachary and Aidan, his mother, Dolores (nee Wain) Clarke. sisters, Bernadette Clarke, Jennifer Schaffer (Steven), and Kathleen Clarke-Anderson (Vincent) and a multitude of nieces and nephews.

Services will be held on Wednesday, May 20, 2026 from 4-7pm, with a service from 6-7pm we will have visitation at Richard’s Funeral Home, 4 Newark Pompton Tpk, Riverdale, NJ 07457.
