Roy Cochran, Jr.

Roy Cochran Jr., age 92, of Apex, North Carolina, passed away on Friday evening, June 27, 2025. He was born on June 4, 1933 in Wild Cherry, Arkansas to the late Roy B. Cochran and Virginia Spence Cochran. He was also preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law Gerald W. and Carolyn H. Cochran.

Mr. Cochran graduated from Garner High School in 1952. In 1953, he married his sweetheart and best friend, Nell Hatfield. He served in the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1956. After 43 years of dedicated service, he retired from Public Service Co. of NC. He was a charter member of the Fairview (Ten-Ten) Volunteer Fire Department.

He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Nell Hatfield Cochran; his son and daughter-in-law: James Ronald "Ronnie" and Theresa Cochran; daughter and son-in-law: Beverly Cochran Beland and Richard "Bud" Beland, Sr.; six grandchildren: Christopher Cochran, Richard Beland, Shawn (Meredith) Beland, Steven (Morgan) Cochran, Chris (Sara) Beland, and Kara Beland (Travis) Bass; and nine great-grandchildren: Ava Beland, Kaitlyn Beland, Hailey Beland, Raegan Cochran, Adalynn Cochran, Rowan Beland, Reese Bass, Nathan Hutchinson and Logan Bass.

The family would like to extend sincere appreciation to the Staffs of Spring Arbor (caregivers, Becky and Shay) and Transitions LifeCare.

Family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 7:00 - 9:00 pm at Apex Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, July 2, 2025 at 10:00 am at Catawba Springs Christian Church, with interment to follow within the church cemetery.

Flowers are welcomed; however, memorial contributions may be made to Catawba Springs Christian Church - 6801 Ten-Ten Road - Apex, NC 27539.
