Ruby Upchurch Council

Ruby Upchurch Council, 84, of Apex died Saturday, January 21, 2012. Mrs. Council was born in Wake County on September 9, 1927 to Heber Glenn Upchurch and Ella Frances Hunter Upchurch. Mrs. Council was a homemaker and a retired Wake County Public School Employee. She was a member of Green Level Baptist Church. Mrs. Council was a charter member of the Green Level Chapter # 362 OES.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Albert Murray Council.

Mrs. Council is survived by her children: Emma Gray Gilliam of Apex, Albert Council, Jr. and wife, Rebecca of Kinston, Ann Prince and husband, Michael of Apex, Jean Council of Apex, Peggy Johnson and husband, Freeman of Apex and Bonnie Hodge of Apex; grandchildren: David Council and wife Lisa of Wilson, Jeff Casey and wife Patricia of Apex; Mike Prince, Jr and wife Mattie of Apex, Anjanette Council of Wilmington, Brittany Hodge and Lindsay Hodge both of Apex; great grandchildren: Bree, Justin, Morgan, Merideth, Matthew, Marcie and Chelsea. She is also survived by her sisters: Nellie Goodwin and Faye Winstead and a brother, James Upchurch.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Monday, January 23, 2012 at Apex Funeral Home, 550 W. Williams St., Apex, NC; and at all other times at the home of Jean Council.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, January 24, 2012 in Green Level Baptist Church, 8509 Green Level Church Rd., Cary, NC. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
