Samuel Donald Arent, 33, of Holly Springs, North Carolina, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on January 15, 2022. Sam was born on February 7, 1988, in Taylor, Michigan to Donald and Elaine (Meloche) Arent. He was a 2006 graduate of Baptist Park High School, in Taylor, Michigan, a 2010 graduate of Clarks Summit University, in Pennsylvania, and a Master of Divinity graduate of Shephard’s Theological Seminary, in North Carolina in 2014. He was also ordained in 2016 at Rawls Baptist Church of Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina. Sam enjoyed sports, playing baseball, basketball and soccer in high school. Later he enjoyed rock climbing, kick boxing, and running. He loved spending time with his family and friends as well as serving Jesus Christ in his church. His favorite thing to do was to talk with people about his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to let them know how the Lord was working in his life. In 2013 he married his best friend and wonderful wife, Brittany (Floyd), June 15, 2013 and together they enjoyed serving the Lord Jesus Christ in their local church and raising their two children, Sofia and Zozo, while expecting their third child in March 2022. As a family, they enjoyed coming to Michigan to visit family, and vacationing on North Carolina’s beaches with family as well.
Sam is survived by his wife Brittany, their children, Sofia and Zozo; his parents, Don and Elaine Arent of Taylor, MI, siblings: Kaitlyn (Bryan) McBride, of Carlton, MI, and his brother Nicholas of Coloma, MI; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Norris and Margaret (Miller), and Joseph and Ena (Osaghee) Meloche.
There will be a funeral service Thursday, January 20th at 6:00pm at The Shephard’s Church, 6051 Tryon Road, Cary, NC, 27518 with a reception to follow.
