Steve Ryan

J. Stephen "Steve" Ryan, age 59, of Apex, North Carolina passed away unexpectedly on Monday, August 11, 2025. Born on August 14, 1965 in Monongahela, PA; he was the son of Steve and Shirley Sampler Ribich; brother of Michele Judy and husband Dave; father of Cole Ryan and Alayna Ryan; and son-in-law of Mary Chambers Shirley. Steve was preceded in death by his wife, Jodi Lynn Howells Ryan in 2017.

Steve graduated from California University with a degree in computer science followed by a master’s degree in business administration from Duquesne University. He was currently working as an IT consultant with HRchitect. He was a devoted father who always ensured the best for his children. He embraced life with enthusiasm. Whether it was spending time with family and friends, following the Pittsburgh Steelers, indulging in his love for tennis, or traveling, he truly cherished these moments.

Steve always had a great circle of friends, too many to name individually. He truly honored these friendships.

Family will receive friends in Apex, North Carolina on Saturday afternoon from 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm at Apex Funeral Home.

Visitation will also be held on Wednesday, August 20, 2025 from 1:00 - 3:00 pm at Frye Funeral Home in Monongahela, Pennsylvania, with a Blessing Service and Remembrances to begin at 3:00 pm at the funeral home.

Flowers are welcomed for the services to be held in Pennsylvania - Please have the florist deliver to Frye Funeral Home - 427 W. Main Street - Monongahela, PA 15063. Otherwise, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society - 5635 W 96th Street, Suite 100 - Indianapolis, IN 46278 in honor of his late wife, Jodi.
