Steven Earl Pauk, 76, of Apex, North Carolina, passed away on June 14th, 2019 after a brief stay in Transitions HospiceCare in Raleigh. Steve is survived by his wife of 51 years, Janice and their two sons. Jeffrey Pauk of Cary, Rick Abshure and his wife Krista of Fuquay Varina, 4 grandchildren; Christian, Hudson, Camdyn, and Ethan, and his beloved cat Emma Louise.
Steve was originally from Joplin, Missouri. His parents, Delmer and Jenny Pauk, owned a corner store where Steve grew up waiting on tables and helping customers with newspapers and books. He served in the US Army in Germany from 1962 to 1965 and was a graduate of Missouri Southern College and Nova Southeastern University. He retired from AT&T in 2002 and moved to Apex in 2005.
Steve was a lifelong member of the Masonic Lodge, and a proud and active member of the Holly Springs United Methodist Church. He also enjoyed writing poetry and short stories and watching the History Channel.
A memorial service will be held 11am Thursday, July 20, 2019 at Holly Springs United Methodist Church.
