Vance Wallace Johnson

Vance Wallace Johnson, 82, of Apex died Saturday, January 08, 2011 at Wake Med Cary. Mr. Johnson was born in Chatham Co on October 20, 1928 to Coy Livingston Johnson and Willie Council Johnson. Mr. Johnson was employed by U. S. Postal Service as a Letter Carrier for 31 years. Mr. Johnson was a volunteer fireman for the Town of Apex. He was a member of Apex Baptist Church.

Mr. Johnson is survived by his wife of 61 years, Elaine L. Johnson; children: Susan J. Dixon of Apex, and Brenda J. Stone and husband, Harvey of Youngsville; brother: John Dorsey Johnson of Apex; sister: Mary Frances Womble of Kernersville, NC; brothers-in-law: Charles and Daphine Lynch of Alpharetta, GA, and Bob Langston and wife Joyce of Kenly, NC. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at Apex Funeral Home, 550 W. Williams St., Apex. Burial will follow in the Apex Cemetery.
